Conference Report No. 2

The Conference held on 31st March and 1st April 1950 launched the BSBI Distribution Maps Scheme - the world’s first dot mapping project - which was later developed into the UK’s Biological Records Centre at Monk’s Wood. The conference report includes details of a fascinating debate into the best ways to study the distribution of species and some valuable insights into the development of the project.
